Welcome to the Home of Oklahoma Dwarf Car Racing.

Kevin Brewer wins again at MAS

July 30, 2011

On a night that the race time temperature was over one hundred degrees Kevin Brewer used the middle and high part of the track to claim his fourth feature at Mid America Speedway. Mike Evans had the early lead and held off Brewer for awhile but several yellow flags kept the field bunched. There were two drivers making their debut on Saturday. Brian Babb was driving Kelly Brewer’s number 50 car and Dale Bagby debuted his OU emblazoned #14 Gixxer powered pick-up. Babb had some trouble with the handling on the #50 car but Bagby finished a respectable fourth in the feature. Bagby is yours trulys cousin and if we could get my truck on the track we would have four in the BB Motorsports team finally matching Brewer Motorsports Gang. We have been trying to match them for three years. Now if someone would beat Kevin I would have bragging rights. Oh well I guess it’s not all about my ego.

Until next time everybody get out and support your local dirt track.

Kent Kantor wins third feature of the year at Mid America Speedway.

6/25/11   South Coffeyville, OK

First off congratulations to Kent Kantor on another feature win. Since Kent figured out his motor demons his Dwarf Car Co. #03 has been bad fast. I was not able to attend the race this week due to a bad case of acid reflux that was disguising itself as a possible heart problem so I am only going to list the feature results.

#03 Kent Kantor, #30 Mike Evans, #88 Rick Cochran, #27 Alex Bachtell, #22 Tyler Bachtell, #10 Kevin Brewer, #2 David Cummins, #29 Tracy Dixon, #64 Kyle Wingard and #13 Rick Quinn.

Our next scheduled race is on 7/16/11 and if we have any changes we will update the website asap, also we are on Facebook  under Oklahoma Dwarf Car Racing.

Brewer wins tightly contested battle at Mid America Speedway

5/28/11  South Coffeyville, OK

The weather turned out good and the track was dry but smooth for the second trip to MAS this year. The feature shaped up to be a good race with Kevin Brewer and Alex Bachtell starting on the rear and some fast cars on the pole and scattered through the field. At the drop of the green Rick Cochran took the point and was closely followed by Kyle Wingard  and Kent Kantor with Brewer and Bachtell coming on strong. Around lap nine Brewer had taken over the lead with Bachtell in third and coming up fast using the high groove. Bachtell took over second and passed Brewer a lap later with Brewer tucked in behind. The two swapped the lead for the next four laps with Brewer getting under Bachtell coming out of turn two on the white flag lap and holding on for the win.

The final results were #10 Kevin Brewer, #27 Alex Bachtell, #64 Kyle Wingard, #03 Kent Kantor, #88 Rick Cochran, #2 David Cummins, #13 Rick (Spin) Quinn, #22 Tyler Bachtell, #50 Kelly Brewer, #29 Justin March, and #30 Mike Evans DNS.

Kantor wins feature for second race in a row at Creek County Speedway

May 14, 2011

Cooler temperatures and rain off and on all week made for a tacky and smooth track at CCS Saturday night. With heat race finishes inverted the feature shaped up to a good race with some of the faster cars trying to come through the 11 car field with the exception of defending series champion Kevin Brewer starting on the pole. Brewer broke an axle in the heat race and fixed it before the feature but most of us didn’t think it would last. We were right when about 3 to 4 laps in the axle let go again. Eventual winner Kent Kantor took the point on about lap 6 and never looked back. Kyle Wingard made a charge to catch Kantor but fell short at the checkered flag. Under powered Tyler Bachtell had another good finish in third with his Dad Alex coming in fourth. Rick Cochran who tows in from Kansas ran fifth with David Cummins and Tracy Dixon rounding out the field. Mike Evans and Kevin Brewer did not finish and Rick Quinn had electrical problems and did not start.

Kevin Brewer sweeps last points race at Mid-America

Only seven cars showed up for the final points race of the 2010 season and Kevin Brewer swept the program with his 10th heat win and his 7th feature win this year. There was only one heat race and Brewer took first with Kent Kantor, David Cummins, Mike Evans, Terry ? who was driving Doug March’s car, Rick Quinn, and Kenny Gariss back on the track in Kelly Brewer’s 50 car.

Following Brewer in the feature was M. Evans, R. Quinn, K. Kantor, D. Cummins, Terry ?, and Gariss filling out the field. OKDCR would like to thank everybody that ran with us this and especially MID-AMERICA Speedway and the other tracks that we ran at. If any of our cars run some of the special races this fall and winter I will update on their success, but if not we will see you all next season.

KEVIN BREWER CONTINUES WINNING WAYS AT SOUTH COFFEYVILLE

ON A VERY FAST AND MOIST TRACK THE DWARF CARS PUT ON A GOOD SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT. THE FIRST HEAT WAS WON BY ALEX BACHTELL WITH KELLY BREWER, DAVID CUMMINS, HARLEY SEDGWICK, AND RICK QUINN IN SECOND THRU FIFTH. THE SECOND HEAT WAS WON BY POINTS LEADER KEVIN BREWER WITH TYLER BACHTELL, MIKE EVANS, AND DOUG MARCH BEHIND HIM. THE FEATURE STARTED WITH D. MARCH AND R. QUINN BATTLING UP FRONT WITH KEVIN BREWER COMING UP THROUGH THE FIELD FAST. BY LAP FIVE BREWER WAS USING THE LOW LINE AND MOVED UP FRONT. BREWER STAYED UP FRONT WITHOUT ANY MAJOR CHALLENGE WITH R. QUINN, H. SEDGWICK, M. EVANS, KELLY BREWER, D. MARCH, D. CUMMINS, AND TYLER AND ALEX BACHTELL BRINGING UP THE REAR. THE BACHTELLS AND THEIR BB MOTORSPORTS TEAM HAVE BEEN HAVING IGNITION TROUBLES AND OTHER GREMLINS FOR THE LAST THREE RACES AND IT DOESN’T SEEM TO BE OVER YET.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KEVIN BREWER ON ANOTHER SWEEP FOR HIS SIXTH FEATURE WIN THIS SEASON.

KEVIN BREWER TAKES FIFTH FEATURE AT MID-AMERICA

WITH KEVIN BREWER AND ALEX BACHTELL TIED FOR THE POINTS LEAD EXPECTATIONS WERE HIGH FOR AN INTERESTING NIGHT OF RACING. THE BATTLE DIDN’T COME TO PASS WHEN BACHTELL FOUGHT ELECTRICAL DEMONS ALL NIGHT AND NEVER COMPLETED A LAP. RACING WAS STILL GOOD WITH RICK COCHRAN TAKING THE FIRST HEAT WITH KENT KANTOR, TYLER BACHTELL, AND DOUG MARCH ROUNDING OUT THE FIELD. THE SECOND HEAT SAW RICK QUINN KEEPING UP THE PACE FOLLOWING HIS FEATURE WIN AT THE LAST RACE WITH KELLY BREWER, MIKE EVANS, AND DAVID CUMMINS BEHIND HIM. KEVIN BREWER, MARK HASS, AND ALEX BACHTELL COULD NOT MAKE THE CALL FOR THE HEAT RACES. BREWER WAS BEING PUSHED IN THE PITS TO START HIS CAR WHEN BACHTELL’S UNCLE WAS ON THE QUAD AND BROKE HIS BUMPER OFF. SOME SAY IT WAS INTENTIONAL BECAUSE OF THE POINT RACE BUT AS OF THIS POSTING THERE HAS BEEN NO CONFORMATION. THE FEATURE WAS WON BY BREWER WITH M. EVANS, KELLY BREWER, R. COCHRAN, D. MARCH, D. CUMMINS, K. KANTOR, R, QUINN, AND T. BACHTELL INLINE BEHIND HIM AT THE FINISH.

RICK QUINN GETS FIRST WIN AT WEST SILOAM

It was not a good night for the OKDCR dwarf cars Saturday night. Car count was down and by the end of the night only two cars finished the feature. The turn two wall got its first victim in hot laps, Tyler Bachtell tried his best to knock it down and trashed his right front end. In the first heat Mark Hass tried the turn two wall and had the same result. Kelly Brewer won the heat and Alex Bachtell was second. The second heat went smoother and points leader Kevin Brewer took first with David Cummins, Mike Evans, and Rick Quinn rounding out the field. Six cars started the feature and a broken part took out Kevin Brewer. A little later engine trouble took out Kelly Brewer. Some controversy on the next few laps when Mike Evans spun into the infield and caused a caution but it was charged to David Cummins. When David Cummins hit the wall and caused another stoppage he was sent off the track on the two caution rule. Mike Evans spun in front of Alex Bachtell and they got together damaging Evans car and that left Bachtell and Quinn to finish the race. They battled for the rest of the feature and Rick Quinn came out on top.

Kevin Brewer wins third in a row at Mid-America

On a night when thunder, lightning and rain threatened all around the racing Gods kept us dry all evening. With cooler temperatures the racing was good all night. In the first heat Kevin Brewer worked his way to the front with Kelly Brewer second and David Cummins, Tyler Bachtell, and Mark Hass finishing out the field. The second heat was won by Alex Bachtell with Mike Evans, Rick Cochran, Rick Quinn, and Doug March second thru fifth. Brewer made his way to the front in the feature with A. Bachtell in hot pursuit but when they cleared traffic Bachtell could not make up the six car length lead Brewer had and they stayed that way the rest of the race. Crossing the checkered behind them was R. Cochran, T. Bachtell, D. March, D. Cummins, Kelly Brewer, R. Quinn, M. Hass, and M. Evans. Due to a track closing and another track dropping a race off their schedule we will be off until 8/21/10 at West Siloam Speedway.

BREWER WINS THIRD FEATURE AT SOUTH COFFEYVILLE

THE FIRST HEAT WAS WON BY RICK COCHRAN FOLLOWED BY TYLER BACHTELL, MIKE EVANS, MARK HASS, AND KENNY GARISS. THE SECOND WAS WON BY KEVIN BREWER FOLLOWED BY DAVID CUMMINS, ALEX BACHTELL, KELLY BREWER, AND RICK QUINN. IN THE FEATURE ON LAP ONE KENNY GARISS HAD A MOTOR LET GO WITH A GOOD SIZE BALL OF FIRE THAT WAS SHORT LIVED AND HE WAS OKAY. ON THE COMPLETE RESTART AFTER THE FOUR CAR SCRATCHING TO THE BACK AND THE 4PM DROPPING THAT LEFT K. BREWER ON THE POLE AND HE CHECKED OUT ON THE REST OF THE FIELD. THERE WAS SOME HIGHLY CONTESTED RACING FROM SECOND BACK TO SIXTH FOR THE BALANCE OF THE RACE. ON ABOUT LAP FIVE A. BACHTELL HAD WORKED HIS WAY FROM THE BACK TO SECOND AND TRIED THE HIGH LINE AND PROCEEDED TO LOSE TWO SPOTS AND THEN SPUN AND ENDED UP ON THE BACK. R. COCHRAN WORKED HIS WAY UP TO SECOND, R. QUINN THIRD FOR HIS BEST FINISH THIS YEAR. THE REST OF THE FIELD WAS D. CUMMINS, T. BACHTELL, M. EVANS, KELLY BREWER, M. HASS AND A. BACHTELL.

KEVIN BREWER WINS SECOND FEATURE AT MID-AMERICA

ON A HOT JUNE NIGHT IN SOUTH COFFEYVILLE, OK. KEVIN BREWER USED A GOOD START FROM HIS SIXTH STARTING POSITION AND BY LAP 5 WAS LEADING THE FEATURE AND NEVER LOOKED BACK. BREWER HAS BEEN UP FRONT SEVERAL TIMES THIS YEAR BUT HE HAS BROKE A BOLT OR SOMETHING SMALL TO KEEP HIM FROM FINISHING BUT HE HELD TOGETHER AND RAN A SMOOTH RACE THROUGH SEVERAL RESTARTS TO GET THE CHECKERED. RICK COCHRAN GOT HIS FOURTH RUNNER-UP OF THE SEASON FOLLOWED BY A. BACHTELL, D. CUMMINS, M. EVANS, D. MARCH, KELLY BREWER, R. QUINN AND MARK HASS. T. BACHTELL AND K. GARISS HAD CAR PROBLEMS AND DID NOT FINISH THE FEATURE

ALEX BACHTELL IS FIRST TWO TIME WINNER THIS YEAR AT MID-AMERICA

Twelve cars showed up for the 6/12/10 show at Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK. The track was smooth and fast for a good and safe night of racing. The first heat was won by defending series champ Kevin Brewer followed by points leader Mike Evans, Alex Bachtell, Kelly Brewer, Mark Hass and Kenny Gariss. The second heat was won by Rick Cochran followed by Rick Quinn, David Cummins, Tyler Bachtell, Kent Kantor and Doug March. The feature was run with two cautions for spin outs but nothing was torn up. Kevin Brewer had the early lead with T. Bachtell in pursuit. T. Bachtell was able to use the high line to take the front position and held it until about lap 15 when a spin brought out a caution. On the restart Brewer and A. Bachtell were able to go around with A. Bachtell took the lead and never looked back. T. Bachtell was able to get back around Brewer then the last caution flew. On the restart T. Bachtell’s car blubbered a little and R. Cochran and D. Cummins were able to move into second and third with T. Bachtell , Quinn, K.Brewer, Evans, Hass, Kantor and March rounding out the field.

COCHRAN TAKES SWEEP AT CREEK COUNTY

ON THE FOURTH RACE OF THE YEAR WE HAD THE FOURTH FEATURE WINNER. RICK COCHRAN SWEPT THE NIGHT WITH A SECOND HEAT AND FEATURE WIN. IN THE FIRST HEAT DEFENDING SERIES CHAMP KEVIN BREWER SLIPPED THROUGH THE FIELD TO TAKE THE WIN WITH MIKE EVANS, DOUG MARCH, KENNY GARISS AND A. BACHTELL HAVING IGNITION PROBLEMS ON THE PACE LAP AND RETIRING TO THE INFIELD. IN THE SECOND HEAT EARLY LEADER T. BACHTELL GOT UP IN THE MARBLES AND BRUSHED THE WALL COMING OUT OF TWO WHICH LET COCHRAN TAKE THE LEAD AND WIN HIS SECOND HEAT OF THE YEAR. ROUNDING OUT THE FIELD WAS T. BACHTELL, DAVID CUMMINS, KELLY BREWER, AND RICK QUINN.

IN THE 20 LAP FEATURE COCHRAN KEVIN BREWER AND A. BACHTELL PUT A LITTLE DISTANCE ON THE PACK AND IT LOOKED TO BE A GOOD BATTLE FOR THE FRONT POSITION BUT BACHTELL WENT A LITTLE HIGH BETWEEN ONE AND TWO AND SPUN IN FRONT OF THE PACK. EVERYBODY AVOIDED HIM AND THE FIRST CAUTION CAME OUT. WITH A. BACHTELL BACK ON THE REAR OF THE FIELD IT LOOKED LIKE COCHRAN AND BREWER WOULD BE THE ONES TO BEAT. BREWER GOT AROUND COCHRAN ON ABOUT LAP SIX AND LOOKED UNBEATABLE UNTIL A BOLT BROKE ON HIS FRONT END FOR THE SECOND RACE IN A ROW. COCHRAN LED THE REST OF THE WAY WITH A. BACHTELL COMING BACK TO WITHIN ABOUT A CAR LENGTH BACK AT THE CHECKERED FLAG.

Alex Bachtell takes feature win at West Siloam Speedway

Race three on the OKDCR schedule brought about the same result, three races-three feature winners. West Siloam Speedway welcomed the dwarf cars for the first time and the people couldn’t have been any nicer and more accommodating. Only eight cars showed up but the racing was tight and fast. The first heat had Kelly Brewer on the pole and Mike Evans outside and David Cummins and Mark Hass in the second row. Brewer took the early lead and held off Evans for the win. The second heat had Rick Quinn on the pole with Alex Bachtell on the outside with Kevin Brewer and Tyler Bachtell behind them. By lap 2 A. Bachtell had the lead with Brewer breathing on his bumper. The two cars ran side by side from lap three all the way to the checkered flag with Brewer nosing Bachtell by a couple of feet. This was by far the best race of the night. The feature turned into a battle of attrition with A. Bachtell taking the win. The rough track surface was hard on the little cars but we had a blast and OKDCR wants to thank the promoters and the racers at West Siloam for a great night.

Kevin Brewer takes sweep at second race of the year.

The Oklahoma dwarf cars ran their second race this year at Will Rogers Raceway on April 30, 2010. On a very heavy wet track last years series champion Kevin Brewer won his heat and the feature to sweep the event. Last weeks feature winner Tyler Bachtell won the first heat by about a straightaway when his dad Alex tried to get below him coming out of turn two and ended up in the very muddy infield. The second heat was a tight battle at the front for a few laps then Kevin Brewer passed Rick Cochran for the lead and never looked back. In the feature Brewer sat on the pole and was not seriously challenged but the action behind him was a pretty good show. On lap 8 David Cummins spun in front of  four cars and when the track was cleared Alex Bachtell and Kent Kantor were unable to finish. Along with the two cars that were unable to start the main event due to mechanical problems only six cars finished the feature. The track was not perfect but we all had a good time on the fifth mile high bank track.

TYLER BACHTELL WINS OPENING NIGHT FEATURE

OKDCR OPENING NIGHT WAS RUN AT MID-AMERICA SPEEDWAY WITH A TURNOUT OF 10 CARS. OPENING NIGHT PROBLEMS BIT TWO CARS IN THE FIRST HEAT SO ONLY THREE FINISHED. 1. #10 KEVIN BREWER 2. #30 MIKE EVANS 3. #03 KENT KANTOR.

THE SECOND HEAT HAD A COUPLE OF EARLY SPINS BUT EVERYBODY FINISHED. 1. #88 RICKCOCHRAN 2. #22 TYLER BACHTELL 3. #29 DOUG MARCH 4. #50 KENNY GARISS 5. #2 DAVID CUMMINS.

ALL TEN CARS LINED UP FOR THE FEATURE BUT ON LAP ONE LAST YEARS CHAMPION KEVIN BREWER BROKE A BOLT ON HIS STEERING AND RETIRED TO THE INFIELD. ON THE RESTART COCHRAN, EVANS AND T. BACHTELL PUT A LITTLE DISTANCE ON THE REST OF THE CARS WITH A.BACHTELL TRYING TO PULL THEM IN. A. BACHTELL HAD A MID RACE SPIN AND HELD HIS POSITION BUT THE GAP BETWEEN THE FRONT THREE CARS AND THE REST WAS TO MUCH TO OVERCOME. #88 RICK COCHRAN HAD BEEN RUNNING THE LOW LINE AND HAD LED FROM THE GREEN UNTIL THE LAP 18 THEN THE #22 TYLER BACHTELL HAD MOVED UP TO THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK AND HAD BEEN GAINING EVERY LAP AND PASSED COCHRAN FOR THE LEAD COMING OUT OF TURN FOUR FOR THE WHITE FLAG. EVANS TRIED TO FOLLOW HIM TROUGH FOR SECOND BUT RAN OUT OF TIME WITH THE CHECKERS FLYING AND T. BACHTELL GETTING HIS FIRST FEATURE WIN OF HIS CAREER. COCHRAN FOLLOWED IN SECOND WITH EVANS ROUNDING OUT THE TOP THREE.
